PORTFOLIO - Wheelchair Accessible Gardens
Raised beds with cutouts and tall planters (w/ moveable side tables for materials) are excellent for wheelchair gardening. An above ground spa allows for easy transfers. And a double lounge chair makes sunbathing possible again.
Gravel, stepping stones, and mulch do not work well, but different fines (like the ones shown below that actually look like gravel), cement, and flagstone patios or path with a tight grout line or mortared on cement are great hardscapes for wheels.
